Aquiferra OlivesAquiferra is a family business and olive estate with over 650 olive trees near the Ngarururo River. The 10 acres of Aquiferra land lies above the Heretaunga Aquifer; the hidden secret to agriculture in the area. The water taken from the Aquifer is responsible for irrigating the Aquiferra groves and is also the namesake of the farm combined with the Latin word “terra” for land. The estate was purchased in 2002 and has realised the family’s dreams by becoming a renowned extra virgin olive oil brand in the New Zealand market. Now almost 16 years later the estate grows Frantoio, Leccino, Picual, Pendolino and Koroneiki olives, hand or machine picked and cold pressed mere hours after harvest to ensure fragrant, flavourful and delectable golden extra virgin olive oil as well as Kalamata and Manzanilla table olives.
